Mother's Day is Sunday, May 11th.  It is celebrated nationally on the second Sunday of the month of May.  According to the website www.history.com, the history of Mother's Day began from "Mother's Day Work Clubs" which were started by Ann Reeves Jarvis prior to the Civil War.  These clubs were meant to teach women to care for their children.  Then in May 1908 after Ann Reeves Jarvis has passed away, her daughter, Ann Jarvis, organized the first official Mother's Day at a Methodist church in Grafton, West Virginia.  Several years later, through lots of hard work and campaigning, Ms. Reeves saw President Woodrow Wilson proclaim the second Sunday of May officially as Mother's Day.  Today we take Mother's Day to honor, appreciate, and spoil our mothers in a variety of ways, each one to show her how special she is to us on this wonderful day.
